Three years after co-producing the award-winning Stories of Lupus, five of the people originally filmed, are re-visited to explore the day-to- day challenges and gifts that come to living with a chronic illness as it evolves over time. The documentary investigates universal issues including relationship changes, monetary burdens, public misconceptions, and access to medical care as well as how western medicine can be integrated with alternative and complementary approaches with Libby who is barely able to attend school due to her complications of lupus is seen by Dr. Soram Khalsa* to investigate integrative care. We document the process through the months as she begins to heal through diet change, supplements and acupuncture — allowing her to attend school more regularly.
